I know it's probably a long shot but if someone has a oil cooled GSXR 1127 motor laying around and they want to make some space in their shed, let me know.

Cheers!:)

I have a lead on a crashed GSX1100F that I am looking into . Is that the same engine?

I've seen a piccy on a mobile phone camera so I have an idea of the damage . Looks like a highside wiped out most of the plastics and bent the forks. Can't tell much else . Bloke I work with has seen it and was looking at buying it for a go kart . I've steered him onto another engine and he's yet to get me the phone number for the owner of the 1100F so I can go look at it. Price would ultimately depend on purchase price ,condition and demand .

Got onto a guy that is getting rid of an 88 GSXR1100 (1052) motor for $2000...Guess I could buy the bike use what I need and sell the rest off? Not to sure but if anyone else is keen let me know and I'll pass his number on.

Bike Wreck at Chipping Norton have a complete 89' GSXR1100 with minor damage. They also have 17" x 4.5" rear rims too for you racers . He plans to race it but if you offered the right money.............

I had a look on the way to work. There is a Star Picket fencepost hole in the cases , the frame is shot and the bodywork is smashed. I can see some usable parts on it and made him what I thought was a fair & reasonable offer . He wants way more than it's worth (he thinks it's worth $2.5k and I think $400 is over generous) and it's not worth anywere near that. Plus it's stored in the open so the motor is effectively a boat anchor .

well ya wouldn't use a yamaha engine for an anchor coz you'd never be able to lift it off the ocean floor,it'd be easier to raise the Titanic.

Apparently the Yamahahaha engines can be used for crab pots, but not in NSW cause they've got too many holes in them to be legal

Well , When I can shine a torch through the hole in the cases and see that the insides are rusted , the oil has turned into an emulsion and there is a big gouge visible on the crank I'd call it a boat anchor. Most of the electrics , the top end , oil cooler , carbs and swingarm are decent but thats it. The rest is either rubbish or recyclable into beer cans .
