before i go cut up a good subframe i want to get some opinions. the blue one is a 04 or 05 cbr600rr and the other is a mid 90's rgv. the rgv tail will fit better without cutting any thing but the cbr i think i'll have to chop the shit out of it. i've always liked the look of the rgv tail on gixxers. i'm open to any advice.
cheers scotty.

I reckon the cbr looks better even though putting h*#da parts on a suzuki is probably against the laws of nature not to mention good taste [V] A bit like cross breeding a lowly swamp creature with a magnificent tiger or something[xx(]

I like old school - just depends how its done. If you make it fat and tough they will come.

No seriously. They will come... in their pants. This is still my all time favouritist fighter eva http://www.spondonownersclub.co.uk/images/burnsiesbikes/15.jpg its just tough because it is.

hi mate, i actually liked the rgv better in the context of a streetfighter, the cbr one looks too sporty and the rgv looks more stubby and mean which is what a streetfighter is supposed to look like

i think the rgv would look way better with different rear light and a nice paint job to go with the bike

just my opinion though

I aggree RGV, its proberly a bit different going that way as most are utilising later model sharper rear ends.

I can find any good pic's of mine,

I used an RGV250 single "race" seat unit, and fibreglassed it onto
the original GSXR11 seat base. just relocated the remote key release.
I mounted the numberplate, indicators, tail lights all onto the seat
unit and put all the wires through 1 easy to reach plug.

Turn key, lift seat unit, unplug loom and EVERYTHING lifts off and
leaves the rear of the bike bare and easy to work on without even
picking up a spanner.

Sold mine several years a go and its still going strong back in the UK.

Looks very dated now, but so do Kats and Z9's, who cares!!

what about no seat unit, just alter what you already have and make up a plate to cover the internal bits :D

thanks lads for all your input. hmmmnz i like your idea about very minimal look i've been running around for a couple of months with no tail but i live on a dirt road and i get mud all over me back and though the bike when it rains. i agree ozkat honda parts on a suzuki might poison even a rat fighter;).went for a ride today and came home with a blown fork seal an a puncher :(:(.on a good note the rgv tail stayed on and got the thumbs up from a couple of mates.next is the paint rattle can satin black as is a rat fighter she ain't no show stopper.:D.

hmmmnz

get a hugger from something and bodge it in place, :D
i vote for no seat plastics :D and a bit of creativity :D
if your keen on the rat fighter look then the ali checker plate always looks good :D
keep us posted

Interesting. The RGV was the standard Streetfighter tail of the early 90's. They were everywhere in the UK (Tony will back me up on this one). The irony is the RGV could be classed as Retro Fighter style now! With that concept in mind I love the idea of the RGV being used again.

^^ What he said

what got me into fighters was about the 3rd or 4th copy of the streetfighters mag back in the early 90's. zed butts and rgv tails were the rage with mx style headlights then the 916 tails came along.so far i'm happy to keep the rgv tail on all i need now is a mx style head light, the twin spot do work better tho.

Si, shirts arrived today many thanks.

cheers scotty.

Man, it's so good to see that RGV tail again. That was THE tail to have when fighters got big in the UK. They were everywhere. Haven't seen that set up in over 12 years! Great stuff.

scotty mac

i've had that tail sittin in the shed for years even before i had my gixxer, i had a dream with it on a early 90's gixxer so kept it.i might change to a later model rgv tail in the future but who knows what could happen eh.
