There 6mm st/st button heads mate, cut down to 5mm long and screwed into the fibreglass.
The drinkin cups were perfect fit..you take out the plastic liner and there is a hole in the bottom.
Used 2 x 75mm st/st seives (from coles) for screens in them too.
There is a vent in the airbox so its not a 'ram air' system but certainly goes harder with a rush of cold air filling its lungs as opposed to the hot air coming through the engine.
And Yes, fookin glad to be back.

Great....I have now gone full circle and back to the original fairing I first had on...except I sold it over a year ago...(banging head against brick wall [B)])

Soooo, Where do I find another of these...ZRX or GPZ...either / or.
I know Brisbane Wreckers have one but after the way that wanker treated me when I was looking for frames I wouldn't want to give him a piece of used bog roll let alone my money.:(

Fuck, I hope you're talking about your bike [:I]
Have you considered a set of the old standard twin spots/Bates Russ? or are you keen on having a bit of wind deflection? I just reckon twins would look right on that bike - maybe photochop some in & see?

Just checked the old thread...the blue one wasn't it ? If so it had the full fairing on it.
Tk, I'm suprised mate....was expecting far more sarcasm from you ;)
Gonna stick the the Gpzee fairing idea, quick & easy to fit and works (need summat on this speed machine :D).

My "Quick Fix" ride is....
The Gap.
Samford village/Valley.
Daybro.
Mt Mee.
Woodford.
Kilcoy.
West side of Lake Somerset.
Somerset Dam.
East side of Lake Wivenhoe.
Split-Yard ?
Straight past the T at the back of Mt G.
Fernvale.
On to the Warrego / Toowoomba Highway.
Back into Brissy.
....or from Splityard, back over Glorious.
Good fun but only about 270k's.
It easy to go from Woodford up to Malaney for breakfast/Lunch,
before heading back to Woodford. Nice road, good twistys and a
$2.50++ fast open section ;)

still kicking myself i never met you guys when i lived in brissy:((8 years).
still, my wife at the time wouldn't let me go riding wif the boys[}:)]. in the hole time i lived there i only got out about a dozen times for good rides.
sharky; did you have to rejet the carbies for that cold air induction?
sharky
18-01-2008, 10:02 PM
Still working on it mate. The carbs were jetted for K&N's so they are a bit rich. Gonna play with the needles as the mains seem ok on full bore with the ram air effect.

It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it that counts.

Finally...Big thanks to ZX12argh for the screen.
http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/29869122371976.jpg
Matty, not sure about the top end yet, just setting up the jetting now...
Got a dyno run next week to make sure its ok for AFR.
As long as it shows a little rich at the top it should be ok with the air induction thingy. It's not Ram air as such, the airbox is vented.
