Number 1 cylinder

Quick and simple question guys, just had the cylinders rebored and need to match them up with the pistons, only one is marked and that is the "number one cylinder." so which cylinder is typically number one. Is it the left one from the exhaust side or left on the intake. its a gsxr 1100.

Sitting on the bike, No. 1 is usually on the left. Make sure you clean the block carefully to get the grit out of the sleeves.
We get each piston stamped with its No. and finish off individually.
