My new project is.....

bike trailer.....

at this stage im thinking fully enclosed, aircon, carpet, fold down
beds.. the lot...

All ideas welcomed!!

just purchased it today, cost 500 bucks, thought that wasnt bad seeing it is extremely good cond, obviously a sprint boat trailer.
will be easy enough to put a floor in and frame surround etc...

plenty of room for several bikes and sleeping....

Looking forward to the finished product. All you need now is several bikes. You and I could go into business together appo, you make them and sell them and give me half of the profits how does that sound?

Fuck it will be heavy!!!

its actually really light, 1 person can lift one side off the ground! (at the moment)
it can hold a max of 2.2 ton.
Im putting a few extra cross sections in, as I'll need a bit of extra support
for the ally floor, the rest will be steel frame and the front section of the enclosure
will be sheet metal, however im looking at putting plastic sides in... the same
plastic used to make the front guards on X-trails...
twin barn style doors (or roller door??) at rear with pull-out twin ramps.
and im looking at a caravan which has been in an accident, if i can get that i'll
rip the guts out and use the beds, sink, water tank...etc..
one thing is for sure... its going to be comfy!!
its 1700 wide (between the guards) and 4600 long (from the front roller to back of trailer)

its not that much work really if you know what your doing...
too many rules to go throu with modifying a caravan..
plus I want to built my own custom thing!! set it up exactly
how I want it... doing a few road trips next year so it will get plenty
of use!!
I also have access to alot of free steel, so its also a fairly cheap exercise
for me..

I reckon its going to be awesome. Not sure where you live but if you're in Sydney and need a hand with it let me know. I can weld, bend tube and drink beer.

EDIT, just noticed the Victorian plates. Still, am looking forward to watching it progress!

unfortunately Dex, im in Darwin, it would be good to get some help building it and getting pissed
in the process!!!
I have decided tonight that the trailer will have a fold out/annexe bar!!!
and seeing that I make all my own home brew... i see no reason why it cant be
a bike/camping trailer with beer on tap!!
I cut the two boat rails out tonight and welded in the extra floor beams,so its underway,
hopefully the floor will turn up tomorrow an i can get that down.
