Sad news as Castrol 6 hour racing legend Alan Hayles passed away on Sunday after coming off his bike and struck the guard rail. If there is a positive to come from this, his wife was not on the bike with him.[V]

From witness reports, he was rounding up another rider, when the other rider saw him he tried to "defend" the corner and pushed Alan wide.If only he let him pass.

RIP Alan.

Fuck he was fast and smooth. Got cleaned up by him a couple of times on the OPH

btw Ive heard from different forums that he hit "debris" (a rock) or leaves on the road...haven't heard about this before..[V]

Shame about the loss but there is no need to drag another rider into it.
Ultimately it was his decision to make the move.
