Gday folks,

Names dan - from WA, and a maad enthusiast for the SF's. I'm a web designer/developer by trade.

As of yet I'm in the process of selling my current bike and move onto an open class license.

Current bike is an 02 Aprilia RS125 - stroker, gotta love it, but am in the process of selling :(

As i don't have the option to ride every day to/from work, I'm looking to take on a bit of a project to get me off my arse and away form the computer. so hoping to start my first fighter by end of december.

anyway, nuff about me, I've been doing lots of reading through the forum and the DIY section at customfighters.com

Not sure what sort of bike to start off with yet, will have roughly a 6-8k budget for the initial bike buy, so still in two minds as to whether i sped the whole hog or go a little lower, with more to spend on mods.

I'll be posting a few questions up fairly shortly, but if anyone has any major suggestions to a newb fire 'em this way, allways happy to take on knowledge and wisdom passed on by those is the know.

Catchyas round.
Dan

welcome to the madness Dan.

with that sought of cash you have a few good options;
1.buy good 2nd hand for 7 - 8k
2.buy crashed very modern bike for around the same
3.buy already fightered bike and use the change on customising

actually there are heaps of options......good luck!!

Gix, I found the link in someone's sig from PSB (http://www.perthstreetbikes.com) not entirely sure whos it was though, there are a couple of folks from PSB over here that I've seen so far :P

I'm hoping so WHATEVR, As it goes, I thought I might buy an older model bike (early to mid 90's CBR900) and mod from there.
As I'm not overly knowledgable with this sort of stuff, I figured a ready running bike might be better than a crashed modern bike to fighter. It may be easier first time round =]

Hi ya Dan welcome, I would say buy an older bike that is a bite ruff on the plastics, you should be able to get the price down nice and low. sale all the plastics on ebay for some piss money. you can ride it like that and change it as you have time and see things you like.
