R1 Tail on a GSX1400

While having a little Sunday fun at the local drag strip ol mate clive (aka 03gixxerpilot) mentioned that he had an R1 tail that was surplus to requirements....now mine.
It took a little work but I did it and the frame is still stock.
Heres the frame....one very elaborate bracket.

After quite a bit of fuckin about and a good deal of swearing...and what do you know the god damn thing fits.

Nice...but now the front end don't look quite right..any ideas on a headlight.

You gunna have to flatten the tank now so it sits level with the tail. :D;)

Now there's something new. Nice one Dave. You realise you've started something now don't you? You'll need to do away with those bulky clocks, get a digi speedo, and then get a cool headlight unit from someone like Stu or import one from overseas. Loads of scope once the paint ties it all together. I like it.

Yes I know...thinking maybe twin headlights in black with a skidmarx delta screen from Stu and a Digi Speedo of some description...Acewell maybe...decisions decisions..

I reckon just really small on the guages and headlight, and a shorty pipe, and it will look more in proportion :)

I've got lots of goodies in my shed but I also have a pretty good idea what I've got and havn't got... even if I can't remember where it is [8)]


and unfortunately I don't have any of those healdights.... ahh well I guess ya can't have everything stashed....

looks good dave, now all we have to do is find you the parts that you have to give back to me ;)
lol take you time i don't have a need for them at the moment, how ever i do here that the R1 tails look good on the back of GS500's ;)
