Hi Guys.
I won this Bird on Ebay yesterday.
Its on the Spirit of Tasmania on the way to Melbourne right now.
I got a soft spot for this bikes. This will be my third one.
I will be pinking it up from the boat tomorrow.
This wasn't planed as I didn't expect to win the auction.
Now.... what to do? build it back to factory or live it naked?
Is there anyone on this forum with a naked Blackbird?
I am after some pics to help me decide.
The ZX9R is nearly finished so I need an excuse to keep me out of the house and in the garage.

I was watchin that too, good price, if you lived in melbourne.
Is that the one with a smallish hole punched into the crankcase?

My first thought was to bring it back to stock (not real fighter material), but then I found this:...

Those Germans will fighter anything!!

Yeah, I live in Melbourne and it does have a small hole in the crancase.
I will see what awaits me tomorrow at the boat.

There was a nice one in Streetfighters Mag a few months back. They polish up ok if you do the work as the frame is nice and chunky like the Firebalde:

Hi Hillsy.
Thank you for the link.
I have checked it out togheter with another one.
I got it startet today.
I machined an insert to fit inside the oil galery.
Made it with .0001" press fit and it came up nice.
I then started it and it runs really well... no noises.
I am having it welded by Rex on friday.

There's another one in the Streetfighters mag with ASF (the AFR) in it. It has GSXR body panels so catches you out until you read it.

Thanks for all the replies.
Some nice pics there.
I end up being a soft cock and put it back to stock.
Got a brand new fuel tank, new side fairings, top fairing, mudguard plus whatever else is there.
