No airbrushing Watevr, it's perfect the way it is.

I gotta be carefull too, Billywhizz has a white one, abel has a shiny black one, fuck we'll all look like we're in a gang or somethin.
Especially with our knuckleduster hoodies that Si is designing to get us into fights.

Damo, this helmet is for demonstration and show purposes only, i would never ever ever consider using anything on the road that is illegal in any way....no way, not ever....ahem

Here is mine, they are noisy, they leak, you have no side vision, there is virtually no ventilation, they fog up easy, visors cost about $100, did i mention they are noisey? BEST BLOODY HELMET ive ever had!! Im going to get mine airbrushed when i can find someone that can do it. There are lots of simpson copies around and thats all they are .... just copies.

I think Shane , that if you have a chat with Gibbo he has a guy in Bayswater Melb. who is more than worthy of painting your lid , I actually just for giggles sent the guys at SQPLUS in th U.K. an
e-mail and for an air brushed helmet they wanted 450 Pounds plus postage would love one but cant find any one to buy a kindey[:p]

Does anyone know where you can get airbrush work done at a reasonable price?

Gix11
28-07-2007, 06:03 PM
Reasonable prices are not available when you are talking about this kind of work. You'll be looking at around $1100. Check this from a while back: http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=751

i mean whats reasonable ? some of those designs will take 14-18 hours start to finish
so $1100 is only $61[ all in ] an hour how much do you charge for ur given skill.... mines $78 an hour [plus materials and tax]
i know what id rather spend my bucks on ...:D

Given the choice between a £30 Chinese full face lid with EU safety approval or this lid with US Snell racing standard, the law becomes an ass.... again

I was looking for a Simpson Street Bandit while I was in the USA. Found a place selling them for 280US dollars, which is only about 340AU at the current exchange rate, but it was an online shop and my peculiarly large head doesnt fit all helmet makes...or I would of had one of the nitro IOM centenary helmets for 120 quid :(

Anyone know where I can try on a simpson in Aus?

HOS
31-07-2007, 07:38 PM
With the Simpsons you have got to try them for fit before you buy !

The size and fit varies a lot between different models.
BUT... the size and fit varies a lot between same sized, same model lids too !!

Heads up there guys from someone who knows Simpsons ;)

I tried 4 different S. Bandit lids of the same size until I found one that remotely fitted me. The linings vary a lot.

i want one of them AGV s with the St Andrews cross and celtic stuff on it but they dont import that design here the model is approved tho so does that mean if i get one brought over its legal?

I dont want to sound like the fun police but if it comes from an overseas market its likly it aint going to have the australian standards sticker on it.

This is the way the law states your helmet should be,

*It has to have a Aus standards sticker visable

*It has to have a chin strap and it has to be done up

*And it has to fit correctly

The three things above all carry a $285 fine and three points off your license in the eyes of the law you aint got one on.

And if you aint got one on same deal 285/3 points

So if your painting your helmets (as i have in the past)make sure you mask up your standards sticker

Sorry to fuck this thread just thought some may want to know.

Congrats;)

As i said i aint trying to be the fun police im just stating the facts.

It all comes down to personal choice, im not telling these people not to wear them just the laws relating to the use of them.

I wont post on this topic anymore :D

may i clear up summat what i was sayin is that AGV do a design called st andrews on a model of lid that is imported here and approved [its just the design isnt available here]
i was wondering ..if the helmet model has passed what difference does it make whats on it?
like ie i could argue that you[the standards ppl] have already tested this make and model of crash helmet but this one is a different colour surely it would be entitled to the same AS sticker ?

CRAFT make lids that look very similar to the Simpsons and are a lot cheaper.

As Simpson lids come in EU approved stylee now as well as the non legal US Snell standard, maybe the EU rating meets the Oz standards ?
