View Full Version : Manual camchain tensioners

Looking at one of the above on evilbay. Are they worth having ? I am looking at doing a hot 12 motor at some point in the future thus any performance stuff that comes up cheap is interesting...
Got the adjustable sprockets a few weeks back ($20 delivered) and found 3 sets of 1200 piston rings for $22 delivered ($85 a set new)
Any advice/comments ???

get it for sure, ive seen what can happen to the shitty stock tensioners.. im waiting for mine to turn up in the post very soon...

Current consensus amongst the drag racers in the UK is to stick with the standard tensioner...
Sharky - hot 12 what motor?
It's the modern motors that people are shying away from manual tensioners on - older stuff like Zeds & GSXs still favor them.

Mdm, An Fj12 lump. Hopefully bored out, flowed head,dyna ignition set up,38mm semi flatslides, degreed cams, undercut/straight cut gears on 1&2......and if poss the giggle gas :D.
