View Full Version : another newbie
G'day all, been browsing the forums for a while now, and thought it was about time that I introduced myself.
Names Ash, 25 live in melb, ride an rgv at the moment, I know abit embarrasing, but I'm still on my L's hahaha
I raced GP bikes for a few seasons, so I never had the desire to ride on the road with all those crazy drivers out there!
Anyway I've been building a 89 gsxr 750 that I picked up for an absloute steal at $800, been in a minor accident, and damaged front fairings, so obviously first thought that came to mind was to fighter it!
Only done a little bit to it so far, modified top yoke to fit taper bars, modified and lifted rear sub frame and fitted 04 gsxr tail, plenty more to come, but where does it all stop eh?
here's a pic of it the night I got it, sorry bout quality, its off my phone!

Yea, welcome aboard mate. I forwarded your email to Ozkat as you don't have enough posts to email other members but you made the effort to introduce yourself so I forwarded it.
Are you for real about the GP bikes? I have to ask as Ron Haslam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Haslam) never had a bike licence and he raced for years.

GP bikes ey?? why did you stop racing??
Gix, not sure if you have heard of adam (krusty) furgerson (aussie superbikes), he only got his l's last year and he's been racing for years to..
yeah, stopped racing cause it was just to expensive, especially to be competetive, and the couldn't afford the time off work due to injuries etc..
Awesome fun though
Actually, I got an 97 tz 250 GP with a full list of spares for sale if anyone is interested! $9000

Good on ya Ash, mmmmm gsxr750, my favorite
This is the build so far!
Just finished welding up the exhaust I made tonight.
Modyfied and lifted subframe about 90mm to fit 04 gixxer tail, made a shite load of brackets, and welded clamps to top yoke for taper high bars etc, then after stripping down front end, I noticed that the forks are really bent.
You'd think that anyone with half a brain would have down this first, but shit happens, but now I am in desperate need of some forks or a front end, so if anyone has some for sale please let me know, any front end would be ok, don't mind having to mess around fitting them!
I'll post some more pics when I get a chance!
here are a few pics, with new exhaust etc
