Whitey here. I live in Adelaide. I race an old school GSX1100 in P5 Forgotten Era. I also have a heavily modified Katana 1100 and EF 1150. I have a GSXR750K that was stolen and recovered, that Im going to do up into some kind of streetfighter when the race bike allows me some time off working on it. The GSXR wasnt stolen from me, rather I baught it from the poor bugger that it was. They trashed it pretty well the turds. But its a perfect project bike since the body works stuffed, among other things. Anyway, I got onto this site thanks to a Baker from Victoria. Thanks Paul. Its a great site and I hope to contribute to it and learn from it aswell during my project build. I build all my bikes from home, as I have a small machining shop and tune 2 strokes aswell. Ive restored a few bikes aswell as built 3 race bikes from scratch too. Anyway enough from me and over to you.....
Cheers, Whitey:D

Welcome Whitey, I was checking out your bikes (& especially the billety looking Yoshi engraved engine covers on the P5 [:p]) in the Readers Rides section of Rapid & wondering why you weren't a member here.
Mate, you'll fit right in here with your skills & attitude & you've even done the right thing by introducing yourself properly :)
You're onto a winner with the GSXR Streetfighter idea, I don't think anyone's 'Fightered one of them before ;)[V]
Do me a favour & put up some detailed info about the Kat & GSX racer would you? they're 2 bikes that are very close to my heart.

Heres the other side. I made the muffler from scratch once I baught a piece of hollow carbon tube. Made front axle from chrome molly. Made all monoshock brackets and linkages. Took 4 years to build. Little by little.
Have I made these pictures too large ? If I have, Im sorry. Please let me know and I will reduce them.

Bloody hell Whitey, that is beautiful, I'd be interested in a rundown on how you built that muffler.

Ive made a few mufflers over the years. Mostly using aluminium outer tube. I start with a solid 6061 grade aluminium bar stock, and then machine 80% of it away. I roll my own baffles using perforated flat sheet that I cut to size, then hammer it using a dolly, until its a tube. Theres alot of time spent machining the end caps and forming the baffle. It usualy takes around 6 to 8 hours from start to finish, but my own labour is free. Materials usually cost around $60 to $80 all up. I always buy enough materials to make several items though. I just enjoy making things for my bikes, so labour cost isnt an issue. Thats why I only work part time... More time for MY bikes that way !!!
