gday all,

i picked it up with only 6061km on the clock, its an 01 model. VERY happy with it, so much fun to ride.

Rode it across Brissy, Renthals & Yoshi.
Even riding it back to back with the Busa they

Good stuff Joe, I'm with you, SV 650's are big fun to ride, they are an extremely underrated unit IMO.
Those things are starving for air stock, so for an easy & cheap 4-5 HP, cut the top of the airfilter out to the line of the element, lift the needles 1 clip & put 140 (I think) mainjets in, I'm assuming that like 99% of SV's, the can's just been bolted on without rejetting so these jetting specs will suit the slipon Yoshi you've already got.
For another 4-5, put the stainless Yoshi bigbore full system (incl. the "race" bigbore can) on & raise the needle another clip & put 145's in.
I did these mods to a mates SV & it really turned a Lamb into a Lion.

now she's looking at USD GSXR600 fronts, normaly a little short for SV's (stepped top yolk or extensions) but her SV is lowered with the forks pulled through the top clamp anyway.

your pretty close there turbo,
there is like a 15 page thread on rejetting on the sv site

i ended up with clip on #4, k&n filter (although the BMC race one is really the way to go) with 142mains and my stubby little carbon slip-on i had at the fools run

but go the USD forks, sexxxxy

turbo. thanks for the tips there, helps me out some :D

i actually put the yoshi on from my gsxf, i cut the mid pipe off it, then cut the can of the bike, and then welded the yoshi on. crude i know, but it was free :P and its only a temporary thing (couldnt stand the sewing machine noise stock!) im going to fire up the mandrell bender at a mates work, and the tig and make my own twin system, very soon, i'll install the bmc race filter and re-jet it when it comes time to fit the new system. as right now, the bike runs just fine, except for maybe a little hunting around 3-4k with light throttle but its barely noticable. still..how much and where do ya get these little jet do-dads from? if its cheap and piss easy i'll re-jett to suit the yoshi and the cut open filter (i gave it a go when i first got the bike.. major flat spot in 6-8k, so put a standard filter in it)

ive already done the wiring trick to eliminate the retard in 2 and 3 gears. and lifted the tank 15mm

think ive found my next project bike already ;)

seen a 750cc big bore kit, some hi lift cams as well on a pom site, looks tasty.. tho exy :(
also ive been eyeing off a sc12 blower now lmao.

of course it'll happen only after i do a USD and swing arm/rearshock swap :P ;)

cheers.joe.

dont bother with fancy cams,
u just put the intake cam from the later on into the exhaust side

if u did that, with the tank spaced up, a full system and the BMC race can on then u would need to jump straight to the "stage 3" factory pro kit
that includes new needles too and is the ducks

contact snaggles on the svdownunder site and he can hook u up with the kit and the filter cheap
he is in beaudesert which i think is up your way too ;)

i have an ignition advance key here i could sell u for 10 bucks and a few post
better throttle reponse etc

righto, i'll take the key of ya hands fimp. how do ya want the money?

i'll speak to snaggles too ;)

about the cams.. you mean take a intake cam from a 03-06 sv650 and put it in the exhaust side of the 99-02 sv650????

cheers.joe.

gday peka, long time no speak.

widowmakers on the final stretch. its all just detailing stuff now, im still yet to do the fab work on the inlet plenum and intercooler tanks

the road from advancetown to beechmont has HOTMIX on the corners now, however, the road down to canungra from the top is still a shitfest.

cheers.joe.

Mmmmmm hotmix. Wonder when they'll fix the other side of it. It's been fucked up for a while now.
