Hey bell .. welcome .... If you want that bad boy to go better the first thing you need to do is peel the yamahardly sticker off and put a Suzuki one on .. street cred and more power right there .. :D;)

G'day mate. Tyres all come down to what you want to do and how much you are prepared to spend. I run dual compound bridgestone bt020's for commuting with mountain work on my zx12r mich pilot race are good if your going to throw in a track day. My new VTR1000 came with Dunlop sportmax and they seem to be scrubbing up alright as well. Generally if you spend reasonable $'s you cant go too far wrong. Most tyres these days will out grip average joes ability ;)

cheers dudes,
i plan to upgrade my bike every year, next one will be a almost new z100 or a 1000 firestorm. as for tyres. not a prob for price due 2 only having 2 things on the ground stopping me from going from hero zero very quickly, so as much as i need to spend on tyres is fine by me. ;)
my 3rd bike will be one of those cafe racer things,.
by the way.........w.t.f is a cafe racer???? my guess is something taht looks to good to go hard but actually does!!! am i right??
cheers
for the responce.

its the predecessor to the streetfighter scene - now being brought back to life by accountants with midlife crisis', skull caps and those leather jackets that are pretty but have no armour. ;)

My apologies to the accountants on this forum :D

mind you that retro-norton concept is pure horn.

Id say the 3 bikes I had a total hard on for in the 80's would be that CB1100R which I thought was about the most amazing thing I had ever seen when they first hit the street.

The Honda VF1000R, which was just revolutionary in terms of its looks, handling, style, power etc.

And of course the KAT!

Well after 20 years of ogling I have got myself a Kat.... and I havnt ruled out the other 2 yet.

I also really like the TRX mate they are a sweet machine. Welcome !

didnt go past sandgate on sunday, but slingblade and i went out and did the putty on sumday morning (left the twin shells at wallsend at 6am!!!!)

im going to strip things down tonight, i might have it up and together by sunday (although it would be with clip-ons on temporarily)
i'll let u know, im keen for another dawn-raid on the putty
it was FUCKING COLD, but totally worth it cos there was no traffic at all and the surface was perfect :D

pretty funny actually when we pulled over after the first run and the grass was CRACKING under our tyres cos it was frozen (no shit!)

i'll let u know

hey mate

im in the same boat as u... i got my first road bike (95 trx) and i still have it.. it came just about fully optioned tho.. over racing full system exhaust, over racing ducktail and top fairing plus foot pegs, moto x type handlebars instead of clip ons with a aftermarket top triple tree, flatside carbs, rear hugger and i just scored some nearly new set of Metzler sportec m3's.. and i must say i love it! its nearly my everyday bike and even tho fuel consumption is not the best i think it is more then worth it
