G'day one and all, thought i'd better do the honourable thing and register on here as the Bird (Sonicbird) is getting all the attention!!!! Can't have that!!
Mainly into Chops, Fuggin hate Harleys, and appreciate the engineering on Streetfighters, done a few in UK but most of my work was Trikes and Chops.
Got a Z650 Chop which is slowly getting sorted for the engineer, building a VT1100 Hardtail at the minute, gotta be a hardtail as i love these smooth roads, and hate my spine:D
Pic below is a ZX10 engined 'fighter, Hornet tank, one off frame, one off stainless exhaust, i'd built it to bring to OZ but got the arse with it so sold it!!

That's me,

Catchya.[8D]

I guess being from England you very familiar with Spondon frames. The tubing you used in the photo above looks very similar:

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/images/gallery/spondon/nos-gsxr.jpg

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/images/gallery/suz/Frankie_TL/TL_spondon2.jpg

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/images/gallery/spondon/mannys.jpg

What would something like that cost the guy on the street if you were to make one to the same specs mate?

Pommy Chopper
25-06-2007, 01:57 PM
The Tube on the ZX10 is steel, The Mighty Spondon use ali.

I would say in Polished Ali you'd be looking at around $10,000.00 and in steel around $6,000.00

All frames are ADR compliant, unless you specifically ask for a mental non-compliant frame, then on your head be it!!!:D

So pretty much the same as Spondon rates but without the shipping fee. Fair enough Shaun. What about a Single sided Swingarm like the last one? I guess you'd need one to work from wouldn't you?

Wouldn't necessarily need one to copy, could make one so long as i had the bike, shock and linkage to measure from etc.
Price wise, around $2500+

Cheers:D

Interesting reading!!!
Makes me laugh when people make Frame building and welding sound so easy....just wonder where i'm going wrong!!!!

But surely if it was that easy they'd all be knocking out frames???

Streetfighter frames WAS not the direction i was planning on going, but as we're in the process of getting set up to make frames, Ali panels, Ali tanks etc i reckon it may be a market worth looking at!!

And as the Bird has not stopped bleating on about "when ae you going to build me a Streetfighter" (repeat 60 times daily):( I reckon it'll have to be a new frame for her Bike just to show people what i can do!!!!!

Cheers all.:D

What a shame you've just let yourself down big time!!
I once had a lot of pre-conceived ideas of Streetfighter boys, this site and the blokes who use it had gone some way towards me changing my mind.

However, sad little Fuckers like you who have a narrow minded attitude about Bikes have no place in the Big world of bikes.
I've forgotten more about Fuckin' Bikes than you'll ever know!!

So have your chat on this forum and talk about Streetfighters and nothing else, then when something breaks on your Bike and your Dad can't fix it for you, go to a Bike shop, but just check that they don't lower themselves to the Chopper shit level you so clearly despise!;)

So excuse the Chopper shit, and one day when you've reached puberty your mum may let you ride a proper bike instead of dropping you off to work at Woolies!!

Fuckwit!!:(

P.S. I'm not your mate!!!

So here we go again "MATE" if you cant handle criticism from anybody maybe your on the wrong site because theres heaps of it getting around these parts so get used to it especially if your going to build choppers.[xx(]

if this is so then your a nob and as i myself am new 2 this site it is not my place 2 say much more....

Lets rewind it here.. I never said I wasn't into chops... I just want a streetfighter thats all.. the Z was mine in the uk, before it was 'redone'...

You have to admit Damo, your intial response was harsh... I found it hard to see any humour in it with all those :( about. So, let me get this right, from what you said you don't like chops?? [:p]

Maybe there were some crossed wires... but you have to remember that not everybody reads things the way that you would read them. Forums can be great ways to meet like minded people but without knowing people personally things can get misinterpreted....

Anyway, I'm off to search for some more ideas for my 'fighter (street variety)

Well i've been giving this load of Bollox some thought today!!

I've had Bikes for a very long time, i had a good business in the UK building Chops for over 10 years and put a total of 60 scratch built Bikes and Trikes on the road, and i've lost count of how many modified bikes i've put on the road of ol' blighty. So as you may gather i'm very passionate about Custom Bikes.

So when someone i've never met says all choppers are shit, it kind of Fucks me off a bit.

So i'll try not to mention Chops again, (unless they're going on the Barbie) however i'll be staying around these parts even if it's only to tell Fuckwits like damo how to glue their Tupperware back on their bikes after they've dropped it whilst showing off to schoolies

Just to throw a spanner in the works......i broke my teeth on Lambrettas in the 80's. But not ya lights n mirrors MOD bollox, i used to either cut them down for racing or chop'um up , tune the fuck outta the engine with Honda and Yamaha parts. Ive built some mad-ass lamb-chops featured in the SCOOTERING and SCOOTER SCENE mags back in the early 80's, one was over 9ft long with HD girder forks[:0]. I even fitted a HD ignition switch mounted in the Bandit frame once[:o)]SHAME

Exile, do you know any of the Hardley Rideable's Scooter Club??
Got some mates in the club, bloody nutters!!
Did you used to do the Magna Carta??
Hate to say it on this forum but i've had some good drinks with the Scooter boys, bloody mentalists and a lot less attitude like you get from some so called "Bikers"!!

Cheers'en.:D

I think the Hardly Rideables didnt come out until the 90's mate. Alot of scooterists that moved onto big bikes went into the chop side, but thats enuf of scrots n chops on a STREETFIGHTER FORUM coz the big boys might get angry :D

have you got any figures on it yet ?Nah, not yet Jim. I've got it in bits again, building a new manifold and exhaust. I'll get it on the Dyno when we re-tune it.

personally i dont care what anyone rides ...for instance if it wernt for half the world riding honda 90s the firm would never had the development money for some of the exotic stuff that comes down the line .
you gotta realise that for all of the jap companies motorcycles is a small part of their business

i mourn the uk bike industry for its lack of foresight, although one brit seems to have had the guts to keep the industry alive back home

dont particularly think italian stuff is all that... cause it seems the stylin depts outrank the engineers...

american stuff is only held up by a misplaced loyalty to an old idea and that they cant get their head around more that 2 cylinders
give the chinese a few more years and theyll be a force to reckon with
i like all styles of bike i wouldnt limit myself to just one ..i just prefer the streetfighter style of bike

just my opinion:D
