Bloody hell griff, there's a lot of work gone into those puppies mate! Are they fork covers or machined legs? Hard to tell if they're covers when they are not the same width as the yolks. The whole lot looks top shelf mate, but the only thing that doesn't seem to sit right with me is the big bar clamp/riser. How big is it actually and does it dominate the front view? Maybe it's the photo and with bars in it will look right? As for quality - top shelf like i said mate.

I reckon the clamp will look fine when it has some fatties in it, they look great by the way.

Hey Griff, hows it going mate. I placed an order for my rectifier from electrex world today. Where did you mount yours mate, I was thinking of fabing an ally plate and mounting it between my top sub-frame mounts. What do you think matey?

28-01-2010, 05:35 PM
hi johnathan,i got a copper plate made in the shape of the rectifier and had it bolted to the battery box that was made under my tank.Make sure that when you do put on your rectifier that you rough up around where one of the bolts goes and put an earth wire from that point to the negative of the battery, supposed to help to ground the rectifier to the bike. They say that a lot of the problems were that the origional was too small and that it had not been earthed properly.......

28-01-2010, 05:37 PM
Hi johnathan, just make sure that the rectifier is bolted to the subframe or main frame,as it has to disipate the heat from the rectifier...........regards,,,,,,,,

Hi everybody, well after nearly a year i've finally bit the bullet and am re building my blade.Got the engine in the frame today, bits were mislaid by the old powdercoaters and had to rob spacers from a mates blade. Finally got the engine in,big thanks to my friends Ger and Niamh for leting me use their shop and for Tony cox for helping me today. Its been so long since i stripped it,that i had trouble trying to remember where everything went...........

Im just waiting on my mate Ger to remove a bearing from my swinger and then it will be a rolling chasis.................Cant wait to hear the 3 exhausts.I was very happy with the black engine in the black frame..........http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1282857997.jpg

I'd be tempted to get them 2 pack painted - my fork legs are powder coated and its just too soft. You can get some rock hard finishes with the 2 pack paints.

Locking sweet tho mate!

29-08-2010, 01:47 AM
I had a busy day yesterday,i got the bearings into the swingarm, the idiots i went to in shannon for the powdercoating, never masked off what i asked them,so i had to take out all the powder behind where the bearings go,not as easy as it sounds. Here are pictures of my swingarm and my chain guard, which is also made from hydraulic pipe which will double as the brake line.................http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1283010477.jpg

29-08-2010, 10:39 AM
Thanks lads,it was my friend Ger that thought it up,if you have a close look you can see that there is also a pipe on the outside of the chain guard and that is where the oil from my scott oiler will go......

I wanna see how that shock goes in Neily, mines shite and could do with an upgrade.
looking good mate.

26-09-2010, 02:00 AM
hi johnathan, the shock is off an r1,it will take a bit of work to fit,but what i found out lately is that the rsv mille 99-2003 ohlins shock is 320mm ,the same as a blade, and there are loads on ebay.dont buy the newer aprillia shock from 2004 on as its 310mm.............the aprilia factory or tuono factory came with the ohlins,so there should be loads at breakers in the uk...............laters

08-10-2010, 06:56 AM
Latest photos,Thanks to Fighter Mc for his help today,we got the shock on using the vfr 750 triangles, got the dowells sorted, got them milled down so that they would fit the bearings in the linkage.Went out to my friend Mike Tobin and got the exhaust pickle pasted, looking way better now.......http://www.asfphotos.com/upload/1286488115.jpg

03-07-2011, 02:12 AM
hi everyone, its been a while, but i finally did a bit more, bike nearly done.I put on the downpipes, but i smashed a bolt, had fighter mc with me so he fixed the problem, put in a bolt with a nut behind it and it hopefully sealed the exhaust.I also got the rad on with my new rad cover, but had to lengthen the bracket to hold the bottom of it,as it has a 97 rad on it ,the only problem is that my lock stops don't work, ill have to but bolts into the end of the lock stops on the frame so that the new ones on the bottom yoke will work.Joys of street fighters.I took home my polished casings to make gaskets,so i hope to put them on next week. Here are photos of it so far.
