Who'd of thought a simple block of cast metal would illicit such emotional responses from a bunch of hairy backed blokes. Tis truly a thing of beauty.

Ultimately ALL engines are AIR cooled[8D]Russm8 i also need some STUDs.Laugh as you may but this thing will be tougher than a haymarket rat[:0]

I reckon that even if we do AFR2008 at Thredbo...you'd better invest in a truck battery because you wont be able to bump staert that before fucking cranberra

moog
14-05-2007, 04:03 PM
You'll need a big oil cooler as well, cos i know someone else from Perth who did that, and he suffers cooling problems

Ok so we all seen this shot b4,if ya been around Suzuki`s[?]If you are gonna try this at home,at this stage you require the cams from"old girl" & "R"[8)]This is wot i did.Take the sprockts from old girl & fit them to nice R cams;)They run the same chain. Now some "cam timing"knowlege is an advantage here cause the markers do not line up[B)]This head i measured 2day with a "squish" of 23 thou[:0]now i have set the lump sticks to"follow"the piston`s(they dont clash in motion)New studs, over size head nuts, staino retainer`s,Three way valve seats,Flowed, knifed, top end valve springs, new guides,91/750 cams(still with machening grooves)
Hope the f@cker stay`s 2getha

MDM
16-05-2007, 06:58 PM
Looking cool MM! [8D]
What chassis is that going into? Normally aspirated?
Might be worthwhile fitting a cooler too - even if it's 'only' a small cam cooler using oil feeds to rear of head...
Oh, and good luck with the 15:1 CR - gonna be fun starting that when it's stalled in hot traffic...:D

I`m too stoopid to weld alloy so i chose a steel jobbie;)

RUSS M8
16-05-2007, 08:34 PM
Nearly there mate, what bits ya still missin, or just hours in the day!
The lump should stay 2getha, as long as you allowed the 3 thou needed when the fluxem waves distort the "true" plane of piston/valve/valve seat relationship when >8,000 rpm.
And as long as you remembered to bolt the studs up the right way round!

oooh, put some oil init 2 :D [:p]

17-05-2007, 01:07 PM
By now i rekon i kood knock onea these lumps 2getha with a white stick & a good dog[8D]shit i just counted them[:o)]I got 2 good dogs & THREE walking sticks.Engine is about ta go in:DAll timed & as the past reflects "Motor by Mundy";)

Hey Mundy,

you're a talented guy.. lol

i know you've prolly done this, but since you're taking the oil feed from the "cooler" ports. you must be sure to use the 1150 EFE oil filter cover. otherwise the oil will bypass your feed hoses.

Cheers

Ed
