hi all ,
i was the proud ower(well still am) of a custom zr 1100 zephyr till i droped it at over 170 kms at the end of the back stright of queensland raceway.lets just say the lovely z9 jafa paint i put on isnt all there still lol. it seames if you install 6 pistons off a k1 gsxr you cant grab them as hard as the 4 spots lol. well thats all history now im looking 2 the future. i have allways been into bulding cars i even ran my own car aduio biz for a while there. a few yrs ago i sore the light and moved back into bikes and have never looked back. anyway i have allways liked streetfighters they remind me of what in cars is called retrotec wicth is taking parts from any where norm later models and installing them and just tring 2 give it attitude. so im useing this bad luck 2 kick start a bit of streetfighter fun. where else would you look for advice on the pit falls of tring 2 fit usd forks and swing arms etc then you guys . now all i need is a new bank balance lol cacth you's around

no not shafty's they where a 93 model they came before thezrx 1100's, they had a 1 off air cooled 1100 with twin spark head , the front end of a zxr 10 and the rear shocks are early kyb afairs , the rims are the same as the gtr 1000 (18" front 160 wide rear). i personly think they are a lot better looking then the zrx but do look close 2 it. they ride a lot like a gsx 1400 and the zrx models , that flat touque curve and they just fall in . its just a older verson of the modern big naked

yer i dont think its too bad but love the thought of going a bit more all out this time like usd forks swing arm lighter rims bigger rear modern paint and a few other things mybe a turbo who knows but with a kid on the way its time for getting real and if i do rebuild i need too plan this whole thing out well (sick of the old way of a little here and a little there god nows what it will end up like lol) i must say tho i did love the look of the old girl as she was but i want her 2 have shht loads more attitude and chalk i just came across her 1 day when i was looking for a bike and i allways loved z9s so this was the next best thing and they go round bends and stop too something the proper zs didnt lol

They may not have handled, but every time ya see one it brings up memories and emotions that no GSXR1000/R1/Blade etc ever will, not even the new Z.

It's like that black Kat/GSX1400 they just have presence and style that don't go away.

very true chalk very true ... my ungle had one when i was a kid and it was bombed would give a lot of new bikes a run for their money in a straight line so i was hooked from then. and yes black kat is very nice too lol
