Hi there
looks like the Kat will be off the road for a week or 2 so i may as well get the clutch redone
i think i recall someone mentioning a good place to get this done, but fucked if i can remember where [:o)]
anyhoo, im looking to just pull the whole thing out
send it off and get it sorted then plug it back in
hopefully cure that nasty rattle [xx(]
Most engineering shops / bike shope etc should be able to do it Fimp. It's just a case of removing the existing rivets, replacing the springs, and re-riveting it back together. Some people weld the rivets, but up to you.
Could probably get it done where you work.

Here you go, luckily I had the manual in my briefcase today.
Alot of the time the rattle is made much worse
due to incorrectly balanced carbies.

True, anything that affects the smoothness of the idle will make it sound worse, but if it's there it's only going to get worse over time.
A quick fix is to just fit heavy duty clutch springs, assuming the rattle is only minor.

Mine had the "Tuff" mods done when I bought it.
83 'Black engine' SD model had the better clutch anyway,
came with extra plate etc,
Mine also had an alloy back-plate behind the basket,
riveted on and welded around all around the outside edge.
Was done by TTS as one of their standard "Drag" mods.
Had a couple of sets of crappy aftermarket plates that only
lasted 1 meeting. Went back to Genuine Suzuki and couldnt kill
a set a year.

10/10ths Engineering are the specialists in GSX clutch mods Fimp, they're in Syd. somewhere, Warwick Farm/Liverpool I'm pretty sure.
I priced a billet basket from the U.S. a while back, it was gunna be around $550 au. landed, 10/10ths are APE agents, so they'll have all the info on mods from stock to Pro Stock.
