Does anyone on here know where I can get a couple of large alloy plates approx 10" x 10" x 3/4" ? Its for a non-structural part so I'm guessing any grade will do.

I do on the Gold Coast mate. Can't help you down your way. Can it wait till you get up here, seeing as how you're going to sell your house this weekend......

smart aluminium or caparal aluminium mate.

you want to go with 5083 or 6061 i rekon. if you plan to weld it 6000 grade alloy is better that 5000 grade. 6000 grade will resist corosion better than 5000

i use caparal but they don't have all grades of alloy so if you want a certain grade I may have to get it from smart instead
