In roughly 2 weeks i will have a 1997 GSXR 600 in my sweaty little hands and am planning to use this bike as my first project... I was going to go the basics headlight conversion, renthal bars new paint job but i haven't got a huge knowledge on what i should start with for engine mods it already has an aftermarket pipe so i can cross that off but any input would be greatly appreciated

I used to have one of those. Six pot calipers (gsxr1100/kawasaki zx12r etc) will fit straight on to beef up the brakes a little. What exactly do you want to change? I've heard the 750 engine will fit in...

have exactly the same bike with bars and shitty headlight on it. go to www.gixxer.com if you want to leanr about engine mods. go and have a squizz at some fighters and then you will have a picture of what to do fighter-wise. email me if you want more info.
