just picked up this 250 all i can really say about it is its rough it starts and its old very old oh and noisy:D
oh and has about 30yrs worth of crap on it:)

Holy shit Franky you must really hate yourself!!!

Those forks might need some attention.

I restored a 1977 Frontera 370cc once. Beautiful with stainless-steel guards. There's a good bloke in Bayswater VIC for parts.
But yours is way old. Those transverse head fins are the key.
Is it a Sherpa?

My uncle does bultos up in the UK he has a few all trials bikes, they were the only bikes to have back then

Yeah Pommie, those were interesting days. The war between the two great Spanish marques, Montessa and Bultaco. What a shame the influx of Japanese makes led to their demise.

Montessa is still one of the main bikes on the world scene,
i did trials riding for 30 years since i was 7, it hurts when you fall off when you get older.

Trials....amazing stuff, but very little in Aus, curiosity value only. Shame.:(

ive just been on the bultaco site and apparently its a matador mk2 ....from 1960ish the tele forks were innovative then
yep cut.. yer right mate im a masochistic bastard but hey it was free and it goes the forks maybe a bit of a problem i might have to nick some jap ones ..anyone know a decent wheel builder ?
but generally its sound ....bin in a barn for years

Thats actually a pretty good find..all things considering and assuming that you did actually find it and not "pay" for it.

The fact that it starts is a big + have fun.

..yeah dave i did this old fellas rams on his tractor [for work] and i saw this under a sheet in his barn and he just gave it to me i just havnt had the time to pick it up

the old guy has a 1912 spa[looks like an old model t] ,a 1923 fiat and stirling mosses old 1953 sunbeam alpine convertible that competeted in the rac rally years ago
he used to race this old bultaco back in the day

he knows some of the bikes ive had the ordacity to ride on british roads ..now i can start all over again in a new country ...still it does say one thing about me ..ill tackle anything and usually succeed
anyway Col you can talk you ve bought bikes off me before ..gt380,cb360g5[less said about that one the better][8D],cm250t, VFR750
blew up one of my RDs, ran me Z650 out of petrol while i was on hols went to the kent custom show on me GS400,and T-boned the 380 into a montego:D:D

..found out exactly what the spanish immigrant in the garage actually is ..
its a 1960 250 matador mk1 so i officially have a bike thats the same age as me...old
i stared it up last night deafened meself and nearly died of smoke inhilation..god i miss 2 strokes:}
