Kind of reminds me of the boat the late Shirley Strachan's (of Sky Hooks fame) brother owned. Used to leave South Oz waters and poach abalone in Tassie and nothing could catch him on the chase back to South Oz.

Anyway in the end the super fast boat was seized and was (now??) owned by the Tas government.

The morale of the story, abalone divers earn as much if not more more than cocaine dealers ;)
