just want to get all your thoughts on a 06 r6 fighter.

i went and had a sticky at them and took it for a spin and fell in love
i think it would make a shithot fighter, il be definatly be buying one ASAP
but was thinkin bout a repairable one instead so i can fighter it

thoughts??? anyone seen one done or thinking of doing it?

Crackin' little bike, ticks all the boxes for me. Just sit back and wait for them to start appearing in the breakers ;)

Try http://www.findapart.com.au/ it'll search a heap of breakers australia wide and save a lot of running around. And you'll be amazed what some of them have laying out back when they call you.

Yup - would make a great 'fighter!
In fact, a lot of the modern 600s would, some have nicer looking frames than others, but all powerful enough to be BIG fun with a set of high level bars...
The new R6 looks awesome with a couple of inches dropped at both ends, just needs fairing ripping off, replaced with aggressive German style headlight unit and set of drag bars...
DO IT!

I would have to say yes to that!

nice that tail looks very tidy was tossin up on doing an r1 with an r6 tail but since taking the r6 for a spin its more than enough bike for me
so it just makes sense to start with that.

the missus has ok'd a new bike so just tossin up wether to go used, repairable or brand spanker
whats a set of fairings worth to resell? enough to cover bars, lights and dash?
shes also buying my custom plates for our anniversary (how lucky am i)
so should be on road in the next coupla months

They would make a nice fighter. Small but nice.

Just keep in mind you will have to produce receipts for parts to get a write-off one back on the road - and that there won't be stacks of these bikes sitting at the wreckers so you'll probably have to cough up some hefty $$$ to get new parts from Mr Yamaha.
Some of the other fellas on here could probably tell you of the hoops they've had to jump through to get rep write-offs back on the road. It can depend on the inspector you get on the day as to how anal they are. I repaired my ZX9 back to stock to get it though the inspections - but it was still a hassle....
Having said all that though, it will be cheaper than getting a new one and pulling it apart.

styling wise, like the r6, gearbox was nice and slick too.. even fairly comfy bar/peg position (tho seat was rediculously hard and wide). i wouldnt buy one for one reason... they take FOREVER to come on song... 10k on board before it feels like it will move my fat arse anywhere at a half rapid rate.

good luck with the new bike mate.

joe.

jock - yeah had my eye on that one but i think il go 2nd hand or demo.
mofo - i found it to be quick enough in the short stint i had on it, but ive never really had a super fast bike so my judgement might be off. but i appreciate diff opinion
