Gday.
I have a set of 87 1100 GSXR rims to put on my 85 popup kat, i.e. front 18x2.5, rear 18x4.0. Also have a 87 gsxr forks to match up.
Comparing them side to side, it seems as though my current rims are built a bit heavier? ie. the metal tri spokes are 1-2mm thicker - same with the cross supports etc. These rims are otherwise the same style out of the same factory.
Will it matter strength wise? The kat weighs in at 210 kg (but iv'e stripped a lot of crap off her maybe 10kg) but the 87 gixxer was about 170 - 180kg - yes? Are they still ok to use on the heavier bike?
