Currently in the process of modeling and drawing every screw and bolt we use at work to supply to a manufacturer. All to dumb arse american imperial standards.

Grrr I'll give you 5/16 of an inch.:(

That video........:( What a fuckwit[:o)], there's already enough pain out there, why the fuck would you give yourself more? Should be screwing it into his temple, that way there'd definately be no pain.

Solidworks - its the only software I'd use for screws. I usually do much more exciting stuff - like door hinges. Woot.

cool,
i use autodesk inventor 11 series at work

found out this week that the boss is gonna fork out and upgrade my package to "professional"

so i will have all the FEA shit that solidworks gets standard (but only on single parts...)

inventor has a fucking massive library of standard fasteners
i woulda thought solidworks would have the same sort of thing?

Yeah they usually do - they have em at uni but for some reasons they saw fit not to install them at work - tried to download models off the net too but people have a funny idea of what ANSI B18.6.4 is.

Fuck I'm sad - I know the standard off by heart now...

I've never used Autodesk before - any good?
