how good are these at night on a dark road? i used to have a twin version of these on my bandit they were ok in town but not to good on back roads n highway.would the extra bulbs give much more light?has anyone got these on there bike at the moment? i don't mind the look of them on the right bike.

this is my old headlight you get a lot of glare off them there ok for around town.but they use halogen down light bulbs the same as you get in kitchens.mine cost me a trip into a cane paddock at 110 km/h because i was on a back road on dark night but the new ones look shit hot.http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/63354332359187.JPG

I've got one on my ZX9, here a pic:

although I made up some wrap-around mounting brackets in alloy, so it looks a bit different.
The bulbs are all 20W - which are pretty weak. I ended up replacing the inner 2 globes with 35W ones I got from the local hardware store and used these as high beam. Much better, but still shit compared to the stock light.

i have got these on my zx7r as well and have them wired up (thanks to exben) so the inner ones are low beam and all four come on for high beam but sorry havent actually tried them at night yet! i got mine for $60 + post which is pretty good but arent a long term option.

i had one like SCOTTY MAC`s on my motard and took it off straight away due to poor night vission..

when we were fixing my mates bike, we modded his head light unit and replaced the inner with the projector light & motor out of a old GTR R34 skyline.. now when he starts the bike you go fuckin blind!!

it was a good & bad idea i think..lol

this is my bike, but we both had the same thing except i changed the wheels on mine.

it was the same head light as whats on my bike that we put the projector light and motor into. since its a glass type head light, we got the die grinder out on the back of it to fit the projector in & i fitted the motor inside his air box & extended the wiring so it stayed dry and as u can see, there aint alot of places on these things to put the motor and keep it dry from water.

maybe it mite be of some help to you guys if your happy with what your got, but looking for a stronger light? but trust me, its a very strong light conversion and there aint no hi & low beam options, but it lights up the street like you have 100w spotties on ya bike..

I work to a rule for headlights and that is if the bulbs and or the reflector plate are not designed for automotive use keep the fuckers in the kitchen or some other room in the house they make nice reading lights but are totaly fuckin useless and a danger to your health if used on your bike.
That type of headlight should be destroyed and banned from being sold anywhere

Ditto - No offense to guys out there with em on but whats the point of having a bike if you cant see shit at night. Dogs suck when you ride over them. Come to think of it cats suck to. Haven't hit a possum yet though. Maybe this is the year.
