I have a GS500e with 0.594km/mm springs in the forks. I can buy a set of SV650 springs that seem to be 0.7kg/mm (recommended from Racetech is 0.95kg/mm for my bike and weight) but the SV springs are 34mm OD and my forks are 37mm OD. I realise the best bet is just to get the proper springs but they are $109.99USD plus shipping from the states, and the SV ones are $45 shipped from fleabay.

Will I be able to use the springs?

Why not just by the complete fork legs for an sv?

Same seller as the springs, damaged but might have some usable parts for you.

Cash. Or lack thereof. And availability. I haven't seen any decent ones for a price I am prepared to pay. Yeah I have been tempted by those, but I would need the complete front end, not just the forks.

I would still need the brakes, wheel, springs, triples, plus new bars or clipons. Way out of my price range at the moment, and I just want to ride the damn thing!

I know what you mean, it took me about six months to save money, find and then buy all the parts for my RGV front end, and I'm still mucking around trying to get it set up right.

Any ideas on the springs? What is the ID of the GS forks? How much do springs expand as they compress?

Apparently the 99-02 SV springs are too big in diameter, not sure about the later ones.

Bugger, save your pennies and get yourself a complete RGV250 or GSXR750 USD front end for Xmas.
