On a slightly more mundane note for this section where in Aus would be the place to buy pillar drills,lathes, mills and power tools that would be suitable for my shed when i move to Aus new or used.
Any shops etc with web site so I can have a look i have tried doing a search but keep coming up with fuggin great industrial stuff that cost's zillions.
I am trying to find out if it will be cheaper to buy here and bring with me in with the house move or wait until i am in Aus and buy then.

generally much cheaper here alf ull get to know when u settle loads of blokes sellin allsorts of stuff here usually the best deals are done over a beer ,sort of word of mouth
i may be able to sort a lathe and maybe a mill but obviuosly im in NSW north of SYDNEY so itll all depend how much shipping costs to ur part of Aus

alfie there are heaps of auction houses here that are worth a look when you get here especially if you know what youre looking at.

I get the feeling I am going to be spoilt for choice which is a good thing.
The prices I have seen so far for new stuff is cheaper than in the uk and the used stuff even more so.

I have been scooting around a few sites and it's like being a kid in a sweet shop all excited and I want it all.
