gidday everyone,
after getitng the ok from GIX11, i wanted to let you know of a new "custom made motorcycle clothing" service we are offering.

i wanted to open up the topic for punters, because before securing the import & distribution rights, we were joe public customers just like everyone else.

this is what led us to putting our money where our mouth is;
1_ we couldnt get custom made stuff that we wanted from scratch
2_ stuff off the rack just didnt fit
3_ the product was once arrived was superb & far superior to anything available locally.

obvioulsy im gonna say that, right?[:p]
so, i recon the best thing to do is just visit the site on www.gimoto.com.au.
i especially recommend using the "click to customise" tool. it is a stack of fun & you can see exactly what your custom made choice will look like easily & immediately.

none ventilated, ventilated or super ventilated.
no hump, small hump or large hump? hump with hydro pack?

*cow leather or kangaroo leather? (i could go on for ages about this topic alone)

also, i aint gonna lie. another purpose behind the topic is to inform as many people as possible in a general way. for this reason im going to change my profile name to my real name - rory.
i want to ensure that i will answer any question & provide a straight, no nonsence answer straight from the horses mouth.

another reason? we are all into custom stuff right? now you can get custom made superb quality from people who specialise only in custom made apparel. & for the same price as off the peg.

thanks in advance
rory

G'day Rory just a couple of Qs for you,
with the options are they any extra cost and if so which ones and how much,
mainly looking at the coustom size ( 6'4 and 110kgs ) and the option for kangaroo leather but also intrested in knowing if the other options cost?
are these two piece suits approved for racing ( track days and drags )
BTW nice set up

Cheers Clive

Also mate, trivial as it may seem, how come you don't have any back shots of the items? I know it sounds trivial but a few guys I know have bought stuff off the net with just a front image to find they have a jacket arrive that was plain black in the photo but had a big pink design on the back! Just a thought mate, might help people decide faster.

thanks guys for the interest,

ok 1st, gix;
there are front image, back image & rider image of each suit.
they are directly below the first image that loads up when you click on any particular option. (directly under the colour swatches)

i sometimes think the grey on the red is soemtimes hard to read. id like the text bolder to but it means arguing with the designer...

Sorry mate, it just wasn't obvious in a quick glance. Have you considered using thumbnails as links instead of textual ones?

Hey Rory don't wish to be a pain but what about my Qs

thanks 03gixxer
thanks ofr the feedback & interest.
ive been thinking about "fighting" my 04 gixxer for ages. ill have to chat to you about this seperately.

answer to the questions:
the cost of a custom suit ranges between 10% - 20% extra. this is only to protect us if someone is 10 feet tall & 180kg's.
it depends on the size of the customer - 10% only if the customer is a standard size but they can ahve any colour they want. thats for a made to measure suit to fit perfectly which is still in the price range of an off the peg suit from other brands. in fact, any alpinestars suit i pick up is usually about $2500.

however, given you are big dude, there would be an additional cost but certainly never more than 20%. this would include the choice of colours, additional things like your name, sponsors, etc & of course being a made to measure fit.

each item is individually quoted with a supplied quotation that requires authorisation by the customer before anything proceeds - we do not "surprise' you by lumping on any extra cost at the end...

kangaroo is another option that is $500 bucks on top of the cost of cow.

are these two piece suits approved for racing ( track days and drags )??
ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, ALL SUITS ARE CE APPROVED FOR RACING. CERTIFIED.
GiMoto manufactures suits for professional racers all over the world under their own brand name & as an oem supplier. in fact, there are many domestic superbike riders & a paricular new aussie world champ who wears a re-badged GiMoto suit.

i have to be careful saying who as the contracted brands get a bit peeved when we let consumers know. understandably.
but we are an oem manufacturer for such brands as D****** & A**

cheers

i just want to add also that GiMoto uses the same leather supplier as Dainese. these guys supply to about 3 or 4 compnays only in the world - GiMoto being one of them.

this includes the cow & kangaroo leather.

in fact, the paddocks where the stock is held has padded fences. TRUE!! its to stop the animal scratching their hide which will leave scar tissue & have a different tolerance to the rest of the hide.

clive, let me know which suit you are interested & i can give you a firm price.
BTW, you can get any 1 piece suit in a 2 piece if thats what you prefer. for example, we made a kangaroo leather Hyper suit for one guy in a 2 piece.

thanks booster for your interest.

if you are interested in a suit, you can have anything you want.
all you have to do is request it like you have.

we have samples if you want to see them in the flesh.

the difference with GiMoto is that we specialise in custom made items. unlike retail shops who provide off the rack products, these brands do not want to, or are not set up for made to measure service.

we love it.

a custom made suit insures there is NO excess material in area's such as behind the knee's or armpit area. i also hate really bulky fore-arm's.
all seams are double stitched. impact area's triple & quadruple stitched & are seamless (all internal) & in the highly unlikley event that a seam lets go they are all reinforced with tape. there is no splitting or peeling on our suits.

a custom made suit is amde with clothes or armour that is regulary worn under the suit. we take measurements without armour & then with armour.

for special requests, one customer asked for a Hyper suit (1 piece) in a 2 piece which we did.
also, we have made a Motard suit (http://gimoto.com.au/Motard.htm) in a 2 piece with knee sliders on the outside like a normal suit as he rides mostly on the road.

these Motard suits are ALL FIBRE-MESH ON THE FRONT, making them very cool to ride in, very light & really cumfy. we expect to sell many of these when people know they are available to modify as you choose.

having less leather they are also very economical.

we'll consider consessions for ASF members, as my business partner is a mad fighter fan. he built his own motard & has a KTM supepuke. i mean superDuke.
