Good Afternoon fellow Fighters,
We had a new guy start at work a few months back,
he is Welsh (poor bastard...) and sold his R6 when he moved over
so the sale of his house back in the UK came through
and with his cash he is gonna buy a new bike
"WOOHOO, TESTRIDES!!!" i yelled at him from across my desk (the lucky boy gets to sit facing me all day :D)
so yesterday we did the rounds of the local shops
the kwak place is the only one that gave us a test ride
and cos they recognised me they let us loose alone to do the test loop
so i wrapped myself around the micron-cans equiped ZX10r and Welshy hopped on the ZX6r
now WHAT A RIDE, that ZX10r is quite a machine
i was well impressed with the engines torque down low and although i dont like the roundish look of the front end it really does handle like a much smaller bike
we came back and swapped over, did the loop again
and the 6 was easier to flick around than my old 250 bandit!
definitely a more hard-edged racier setup than 10 i think
but here is the thing, the ZX10r IS a year old yeah
and the new flames paint (which i personally think looks more gay than Large in a pink tootoo) costs an extra $500
but the plain coloured ones they were gonna do us for a mere $17 500 ON ROAD!!!!
now, talking to the Suzuki blokes and they "could do" us a new gixx thou for $19 grand PLUS ON ROADS!!!
and they didnt have one for us to test ride
mind u, they did have a 07 gsxr750 that we managed to talk em down to $16 000 on the road if we payed cash
(not a bad deal there) but once again we couldnt ride it so....
anyways, we are thinking of taking a day and testriding in sydney
but come on.... with on roads thats a gap of about THREE GRAND between the two litre bikes
so has anyone ridden the Gix?
is it really THAT good???
