Is it based on the GSXR/Bandit oilcooled engine? It looks very different. But i couldnt see Suzuki making a completely new engine just for the GSX14.

Oil and air cooled. Ive never heard or seen anybody useing Bandit or GSRX part on a 1400 motor so i doubt if they are interchangable.
