WTB: Street fighter project

Guys,
Very new to the roadbike scene but I really like the idea of a streetfighter/naked style bike. I am pretty handy with the spanner so I am looking for a project bike. I would love something around the 600-750cc mark with the age being as new as possible.:D Living in Townsville I don't have alot of access to wrecked bikes so if anyone has something suitable or knows a good place online to look that would be great. I have tried ebay but I have been having problems trying to find the wrecks on there. Price will be dependant on condition but around $1500 for a base would be great.

Well guys, with any luck the Turbo MX-5 will be sold on Wed night so I will be getting serious about the street fighter project. I am really thinking that I want something that I can build myself as I think that is half the fun so if anyone knows of something around the north queensland (Townsville) area let me know.

Thanks Rick but not really what I am looking for. After doing some looking around I have decided that a TDM850 will be very cool done up and something a little different all I have to do is find one at the right price as there doesn't seem to be many around so if anyone has a lead on one or even a frame as a start that would be great.
