This is what's left of the clutch out of the drag bike.
Slight airshifter malfunction & look what the fuck happens.

Yep, but it's not all bad. I've got another basket & all other parts are readily available.
I also have 2 of the best mechanics in the business at work so it'll be back on the track next weekend.

That's the second one I've seen like that. The other was caused by a young fella trying to clutch up wheelies on his Gixxer thou ????
Didn't fuck the plates as much as yours tho. You win...:D

Nice effort ;)

...will it be fixed for Straightliners...?

papa smurf

Unfotunately that bike won't be going to straightliners, i have enough traction problems on a prepared racing surface:(
I am however trying to sort out finances so that i can take my old faithfull GS out for a play.
With straightliners being the weekend after the nationals it's all a bit up in the air at the moment.

That's horrible papa smurf.
How did the rest of the motor fare?
Maybe a steel basket from a later GSXR might make a cheap replacement, without the expense of billet?

that looks rather well done.....if you're gonna break it , break it proper .
only problem i can see is ....a complete engine disasembly and clean up. where did all those little metal bits go ?

Mate there's fuck all left trust me, we dug the rest out of the engine today.
All that's left to do now is a REALLY big clean up & flush out then in with the new one & awaaaaaaaay we go again.
If you really want it give me a call.

Papa, you must have had a crack in the basket already to get that much destruction!
Congratulations, I don't think I can remember seeing a more fucked up clutch than that ..ever. Makes my grabby clutch problem seem rather insignificant.[8D]

Good on ya mate, ill be there on Saturday to ride the Zumafighter for you if you like. Will have the good wife and kids so should be a top night. Throw that bodywork in the trailer too, we should be able to sort something out for you if you need a few mods/fixing. Nice new bodywork would look good for Bikeweek.
