That R1 with the white flames was bloody horrible [xx(] 147.7hp, im pretty happy with that, considering its still running 40mm cv carbs, standard airbox and standard ignition/timing. i did find out im using a 750 cdi which will be changed for the 1100 version tonight. I suppose id better buy some 41FCRs, pods, secret cams and dyna 4000.

Vulgar display of power Lads, good to see the ASF flag flyin high.On the 1st chart the rocket 3 is doin 163,but on the 2nd its doin 128,is this the same bike? the ZX10 is always a crowd pleaser usually with nuthin more than a can update.

I think it was 2 different bikes, not sure what caused the
huge difference between the two figures though.

The bog-standard, just released, ZZR14/ZX14 pulled a nice 162.

There was a Harley just before we left, LOUD AS HELL !!!
shook the place, Sounded like 200bhp. Big Ruffy Tuffy bikers sticking their fingers in their ears,
FEEL the pulse's in the air.....
Shane recon's it made 50 bhp :D:D:D

I only made a flying visit, pretty lame really. Just read before that Hoppa was there. How the fuck did I miss his bike? Was it on site mate? I saw you from behind Des and Kaye, you were just leaving as I got there. Were either of those R1s anything to do with R1CrashTestDummy?

Hey Oz,
I was running the cdi from an 88 750 in my 87 1100 engine, and changed it to one from a 91 1100. More torque right through the rev range, a little more power, but 'cause the 750 had an extra 1000 rpm, top speed on the dyno went from 270ish down to about 230. Just something to think about for staightliners.

This Katana is owned & raced by Shane Brown, bloody nice bloke and can ride the sucker too.
Joe Marshall had an awful lot to do with the engine, it's only 1170cc but really hauls arse. The chain running outside the frame is to facilitate the width of the rear wheel.
See-through float bowls are standard on FBG Lectron carbies, the ones on this bike are 44mm, i'm jealous mine are only 40's.

I had a good talk with Shane on sunday, bloody good bloke. I asked him a few (lots) of questions and he gave me the same advice as papa smurf did. I think he said he is racing in Comp bike now because of the gas. A really nice bloke and a stunning bike

You got it Shayne, he is a nice bloke.
Yes he is racing in comp bike now but not because of the gas you can run giggle gas in mod bike.
He's racing comp because he can run the numbers to be competetive & comp bike is heads up racing as opposed to dial your own handicap racimg in mod bike.
When i eventually get turboed i may have a crack at comp bike as well but i really like the comradery and competition in mod bike, after all we had a record 66 entries in mod bike at this years Winter Nationals.[8D][8D]
By the way that bike of yours looks to be running REALLY fat.
What do your plugs look likeafter a ride?

Does anyone know what the headlights are on the naked R1 that TonyNitrous posted? I saw it there and thought it was pretty tidy (except for the paint). I'm interested in something like that for my ZX9.
Bloody good show once again!

Not sure mate. I thought this photo I took might help but it looks like it won't:

http://www.streetfighters.com.au/forum/upload/sbr12.jpg

Bit disappointing on the Fighter turn out don't you think? This was probably the best effort there, and I mean, what's he done? Risers and lights plus paint job. Nothing really amazing. It's even still got the original surf board mudguard and hugger!
