Apple Juice?, I remember I was in Hospital once and I heard
over the announcement speakers.
"Attention due to a mix up in the Urinology Dept, Apple Juice
will not be served today".
You-all don't live on Copperhead road do ya.

chalk10, good sugestion mate. I reckon I could supply a bottle of the best as a prize towards the Straightliners gig. I will give it great thought to which category I deem deserving. That is, the fastest may not necessarily win the Moonshine....

May even be the bloke aiming the Lidar is a contender.... but hey that would cause an uproar :D

Heya Rich. You obviously distill, mate. I sell stills(but only to people who use 'em as door stops;)) I'd love to hear about your still!! What size is it? What boiler you using? What you make your wash out of?

G'day Willow, I have a hand made Reflux Still, the copper coloum stands about 1 metre high and the pot is a 50 litre s/steel beer keg (heated on a gas burner). On average I get a return of 5 litres of 80% from a 25 litre wash.

If I time it right one of my favourite bike mags is out and I read it while I do the 3 hours of cook off.

Mmmm..... paradise :D

NTB - e-mail sent mate.

Yeah Rich, nothing better than to watch that sweet clear liquid drizzling out of the condenser! I usually make them up to order. Hve sold a few 2inch and 3inch S/S ones that produce around 90% and higher on the first run. I actually ran my car and bike on the stuff. Worked really well but is pretty involved to get it to a burnable state(dry) without leaving water in the tank.

90% I'm impressed.

And higher, mate. It's all in your reflux packing, condenser cooling and heat. Anyway, your whisky looks mouth watering mate.

Speaking of impressed. I have been a Wild Turkey drinker for a long time and I havnt been able to touch too many other spirits since I got hooked on Turkey. For example I used to like Beam and JD but after Turkey they taste very thin and like they have too much alcahol in them (they taste cheap basically).

Then recently I had the pleasure and priveledge to go to Rich's place and sample some of his amazing work. Im not exagerating when I say, this stuff compares favourably with any Bourbon I have ever drunk inlcuding Turkey and Bookers, in fact I would drink it in preference to Bookers, which I think is a top Bourbon but a little over rated and over priced.

So in my opinion (for what its worth) this would be the 2nd best Bourbon I have drunk after Turkey 101 (the duty free version not the Oz bottle). Its smooth as silk, full bodied flavour and great smell. Its pretty amazing actually that the overall finish is so good, if you didnt know it was home made I think 95% of experienced Bourbon drinkers would say it was commercial after tasting it. Its basically imposible to believe its home made until you see it in the flesh.

Its a big call but I stand by it... Top work Rich!!
