I know a bloke that commutes from Newcastle to Sydney everyday on a diesel bike. He bought an Enfield Bullet 500 single and spent about $7000(I think) for the factory diesel conversion kit. He now gets a minimum 50kms to the litre and slashed his fuel bill by 2/3rds as a result. It isn't fast or overly stylish but he reckons that it paid for itself in just over 2 years. Don't forget that LPG conversion kits for bikes have been available for over 30 years(not sure if they are legal in Australia though) if you really want to save at the pump........

i wish my computer would stop taking a nap halfway through things. I've tried twice to get a look at the diesel bike and twice it's taken twenty minutes just to get to the intro.
