That happened on my favorite piece of local road. I go through there at 10/10th's all the time, lots of 25/35/45 kph corners at one end, high speed sweepers at the other, low traffic normally, some gravel but generally a good clean surface. BUT, there is virtually no gravel in the area where she went down, plus they're all nice sweepers through there, just look at the photos the road surface is clear and smooth. So fucked if I know how she put it down, more likely she came in too fast and panicked on the brakes.

Strange thing is that none of the local bikers I know have heard about it.
