A few of you know that the bloke killed in the mine accident at Beaconsfield in Tassie was a good mate of mine. Larry Knight was/is the most genuine, down to earth, kind bloke i have ever known. He was a true motorcyclist, he lived for his family (wife and 3 kids) and lived for riding. He rode a XL250 from Melb to to Perth and back just because it seemed like a bit of fun in the early 80s. He really would give you the shirt off his back. My first 10 years of riding were mostly with Larry and a few others. Fastest punter of a XS650 ive ever seen. A mate and i bet Larry 2 cartons of beer once that he wouldnt shave his head.... He did, lost lots of skin, we finished it off( i think he lost more skin from us doing it) the went to work the next day (outside in summer) no hat and had blisters the size of the palm of your hands on his head. It didnt worry Larry and we helped him drink his beer. Anyway the world is a poorer place without Larry Knight a TOP BLOKE and a good mate. RIP Sport

Condolences to his family and friends.

I hope his family isn't forgotten when/if the media money starts to flow

So much joy for some so much sadness for others.
Hope some joy comes the way of the mans family.

That mate of yours Shayne, sounded like a top bloke, the world could do with more like him. I heard all his bike mates turned up today.

He had a full bike run procession from his mates at the church. He must have been a well liked bloke. A shame and a sad loss of a guy I never knew, but sounds like I'd like to have met. I feel for you mate. He'll ride on where ever he is now, don't you worry.

Shayne, something is on the way so you can toast to Larry's life in the style he deserves. Tassie is a poorer place with out him.

Cheers Rich

Sorry to hear about your mate Oz, I hope with all that media money floating around for the survivors there is some left over for Larry's family. Hey Oz, maybe you could let us know how they get on?
