Frame Colour GSXR

Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has had an early model GSXR
1985-1991 frame powder coated in satin black, if so
how did it turn out, does it look flash or do ya reckon
the straight aluminium is the way to go.
I am thinking of doing it but does anyone have a pic
of one of these Gixxers with a black frame.

i did my 88 7/11 black powdercoat gloss tho. it looks great. Gix11 owns it now so maybe he has a pic for you.

This is Ross's (RR-711) 1100 when it had the black frame.
Took a trip down the road :( But it will live again;), its now the frame for the fighter project we are going to build together.:D
Love the black , think it came up excellent.

Hey Hooligan thats a top lookin gix im guessin its a 1052 n if so hows it go coz ive got one in the shed linin up for a rebiuld thinkin of puttin it in the L frame. the 1127 is now 1216 n goin in the RR.And do ya know if a 750 L head goes on em. cheers once again very nice GIXA ;)

yeah, it's an 87 1100 in an 88 750 frame. It's got got bandit pistons in it (needed a 2mm over bore 'cause it'd been stored badly) 38mm carbs and pod filters. With the 88 model 750 cdi it was making about 130bhp, and it's under 200kgs wet. I've got a 92 mod 1100 cdi for it now, but it hasn't been dyno'ed yet.
I've heard the 88 750 head fits the 1052, dunno about the L. Maybe check frankensteins guide on Old Skool Suzuki?
