Hi experts.
Can anyone tell me the compression ratio difference between genuine Hayabusa pistons and WISECO Hayabusa pistons ?
The size I need is stock (81mm)

I'm told the WISECO pistons are 0.1 lower compression which is the opposite to what I expected.
If this is correct that'll be pretty sweet, I just don't want to go higher.

Oh yeah, i got my ABM top yoke conversion from Austreetfighters the other day. I couldn't believe how well it fit on. Everything bolted right up. Well, it did after I managed to stop my mates from touching and licking it long enough so I could fit it.
It's rather sexy.
I must say something about the ABM fat bars I got though, although they score a solid "as fuck" reading on the cool-o-meter. The stock master cylinders, switch gear and hand grips all have trouble fitting on the skinny part of the bar (they're tapered so the stock stuff fits on). Because of this, my brake and clutch master cylinders sit on the piss a bit. It's fine though until i feel inclined to get some remote master cylinder set up and I'm sure everything will work okay. I just thought others might like to know.

Cheers

Nah mate, might take one tonight and see if I can work out how to load a pic onto the forum.

What's the stock CR? The first pistons on this page are prolly what you're talking about.

http://www.pistons-online.com/overbore.asp?model=Suzuki&st=22&end=22

<Edit> I just did a search and you're using these in a GSXR 11.

You know that you'll get less compression than the stock GSXR pistons? (email Ozkat for more info)

Yeah mate, less compression is good. I'm fitting a Holeshot Racing blow through turbo system. They reckon the Busa pistons are forged and the bandit/GSXR are cast jobbies so the forgies will handle a lot more power.
They are also 81mm which will give me 1216cc.
I'm hoping it will go allright.

I also had another look at those fat bars I put on. Fucken things are on upside down !...nah not really. On the RH side, because of the throttle assembly I guess, the bars are a tiny bit short and the throttle rotating assembly hangs off the end of the bar just a smidge. Left hand side if just fine. Hardly a problem, I put my bar end weight in the end of the throttle side and it seems to be okay. After having a look at them properly, it's because the original master cylinders fit on clip ons and the angle of them is kind of wrong for the fat bars so they look like they're on an odd angle. They still look allright though and will do for the time being. Will try to load photo's.

I see what you mean about the master cylinders. Did the top yoke just bolt up without any stuffing around with the instruments?

P.S. I think your dog died

the MC cap is meant to sit flat for the stock clip-ons
think thats what he is trying to get across

have the same trouble with the busa MC i have on the SV
makes bleeding a bit tricky

Rocket, i presume your talking about Busa pistons in a 1127. The comp ratio you will end up with is between 8.5:1 and 9.0:1 and yes you will end up with 1216cc. Ive done the conversion and its easy, with no problems. i also used Cometic Stainless head and base gaskets avalible from Serco.

Back to the Master Cylinders, yea, they do that. You also have to find a way around it when bleeding the brakes. I've tried balancing the bike on an angle with the bars turned and all sorts, but Davo came up with the winner. Remove the assembliy totally and attach it to the curvy part of your lawn mower handle until its straight again. Works a treat. The instrument bracket usually just bolts up under the top clamp Large, so I'm guessing the smart little boffins at ABM have just copied the underneath and front edge shape to make it a straight bolt on job. ....and yea Rocket, your dog doesn't look too impressed with it at all.

The guage brackets and the key barrell lined up perfectly. There was just a couple of spacers that went between the key barrel and the yolk but it all went in spot on. All screws and stuff supplied.

The engle of the master cylinder is what I was talking about, I'm sure I can come up with a way to get the cylinder to bleed up, the lawn mower idea is a good one. Well, it would be if I had one, I'll use a broom handle and make lawn mower noises instead.

The dog is NOT dead, she is in "stealth security mode" which funnily enough, closely resembles sleeping. I am assured there is a subtle difference however.

And Ozkat, you are spot on with what I want to achieve.
But at the risk of sounding dumb, i don't actually know if the motor is a 1127 or a 1052 or whatever the other one is.
It's a 92 model though, which I think is the 1127.

yeah 92 is 1127, the busa pistons wont fit the 1052 anyway.

Phew, lucky then !!!
So Oz, with those busa pistons, is that low compression ratio achieved by running standard thickness gaskets? Or is one of the stainless ones a thick one ?
I assume you've done this for a turbo application. What do you consider as safe boost and HP levels with this set up ? Or what have you achieved ?

has been done with up to 22psi and well over 300hp. but 12-17 psi and 220hp is more realistic

Rocket,

The motor size is cast into the sides of the cylinders or the crankcases I believe

It's all good. 1127 it is.
Holeshot tell me to use a stock base gasket with a cometic head gasket at standard thickness.
I believe WISECO supply cometic gaskets.
So what is a cometic gasket?
What do you think about also o-ringing the top of the barrel so I don't blow a head gasket on those days when I simply MUST have 220hp?
You know, for overtaking that pesky landcruiser/caravan combo.

Nah I'm ordering the whole shebang from Holeshot Racing in the UK. Not the cheap way to do it but it'll be done and it'll be right and supplied with all the bits.
Because I'm getting the motor built by someone and ordering the kit from someone else, I am trying to get my head around as much of the technical stuff as I can so I know what's going on and make sure the engine is done correctly with the right gear.
You guys recommended I build the system myself a few months back but i don't have access to expertise over here in the west for this sort of thing so have taken the safe route and ordered the lot.
