can I have some expert opinions on best value for money please?

Hey Claire there are HEAPS of good deals, Best site to compare ISP's is http://www.whirlpool.net.au/ here you click on 'broadband Choice'and can check out every provider in the county, there hidden fees and monthly charge as well as what you get for your money.

If you ony have ADSL internet availbale go for whats called ADSL2+ this is the faster version of regular ADSL, the best company who handles ADSL2+ is a company called Internode.

If all ur after is a something quick but for forums and internet browsing a $30 a month plan is sweet. THe optus $50 a month is better for ya buck though.

i use the optus 60gb amonth plan on cable (cause i cant get frikkin adsl where i am) 20gb on peak and 40gb off peak which is 12am to 12pm) and if you go over (as i always do) you just get shaped to 64kbps till the new month, no hidden charges or nowt,

although the best i had was iprimus 1500/1500 unlimited, but they dont offer that package anymore (not after we downloaded 286gb in one month and didnt even make it into the top 10 users :D:D)

i just use a homing pigeon Bear,guarantee'd next day delivery unless bird flu kicks in

1, If you know how much you download on dialup...you need to allow maybe 5 times that amount for broadband. For example I used to dl only about 6-800mb a month on dialup and now I dl about 3-4gb.

2, Even if you have a fast connection...it's still preferable to download your porn before playing it. It's always a downer when your "Anal Lady" (World Record Attempt) freezes on the gravy stroke[V]:D

Yeh when you add the costs of each dial up phone call on top of your unlimited interent monthly plan costs, broadband sometimes is only a couple of dollars more. Then there's the wicked speed over cruddy dial up. I'd never go back..... lol

thanks heaps everyone, i am currently using Davos dickie bird method (and getting on at work).
will try those koee / dodo ones thanks rexie. do ya have to combine with a phone plan for those, cause thats where i was coming unstuck, the phone plans are 'spensive, and i'm only keeping a landline cause i want broadband.. thanks all!
