does anyone know how to recreate these instead of buying them off ebay for an arm and a leg.. surely there is a cheap way to make them... im sure plenty of you are thinking why? they look stupid etc.. but im quite partial to them, and i think they look different.. so anyone who can help, it would be much appreciated..

well im not sure, thats why im asking, i dont really know where to look for this kind of stuff... if you know where to get this stuff from let me know..
this is how they work apparently:

They use 4 ultra bright LED's with a pyramid of reflective plastic that makes the structure of the design. The LED's draw light from the running or riding lights to create an amazing look.

I made them for my toyota soarer a while ago. Basically you need to by a few plastic rods, heat them in the oven and bend them to shape. Drill a whole in the two ends and insert LEDs in. Then using a hack saw cut small slits along the length of the circle.tape up the ends where the LED is and voila. Open your healights and insert and then make sure you seal the light up properly. It really is easy.
