The bores don't have a noticeable lip but they're pretty glazed. Might just be a rering and hone job...

It hasn't been out since the AFR so it looks like it was running a bit rich

I'm going to see my mechanic mate to see what needs doing...although when I'm drinking and wearing my "Satan" shirt I have visions of head work/cams and a 1216 kit...[8D]

Busa pistons are forged and give you 1216cc, although lowers the compresion ratio a bit, i did it on my last 1127 and lost no power at all with the lower comp ratio. I bought near new busa pistons from the US with rings for less than $100 delivered here within 7 days.

and don't forget to close of the vacuum take off from Number 2 for the the fuel tap as they leak and lean off the mix and blow pistons. You can see # 2 is running lean any way. Convert the tap to a free flow type.

I went and saw my new best mate Mundy and he fixed me up with a set of 1201s (Serco didn't have the 1216's...) plus the gaskets and Orings needed for a rebuild.

Just got to find myself a 82.5mm drill to open the tubes a bit and it'll be going back together:)

Don't need to. The frame makes a great stand and as a bonus, it's easy to move around.

It's OK Large, you can tell us, this whole forum is covered by the Cone of Silence - trust me ;)
Alternatively, someone living in Sydney go 'round to Large's place, kick the garage door in & take some spy shots. [}:)]
