I spotted the shifter age's ago when I had my B12,
Always thought it would be lighter for the street than an
air shifter (unless you run without the on-board compressorand use the swingarm as a tank like a full on Dragger)

Looking at it now, it seems expensive.
How had would it be to put one together ?
The basics are a BIG chunky solenoid, a cable, and
an adjustable timer to cut the ignition as it shifts.
Not sure I could build one, but im sure there are folk
around who could ?

Just a thought.....

Mate, Im doing the same thing....over the past few months Ive spoke with heaps of blokes with differing opinions.... The only thing sensible I understand is that most of electric shifters ( on the market) have smaller diameter shift rods, and some are good for about 200hp. Airshifters ( pingle etc)on the market have larger diameter shift rods and are good for however much hp you can afford....

All this said, I can only just get my head around the theory.... energy pushed through the gear shift parts during full throttle changes tend to break light weight shit!!

I would prefer a electric shifter.... but, Ive been warned against it....

As per Tonys reply, I think it would not be too difficult to bulid one that would be up to the task.

$646.00 Aussie rubles, seems a little rich but if its good quality and reasonably easy to sort maybe it isnt too bad. If it saves you 0.3sec or 0.5sec its money well spent.

I reckon BigToe(MkI) is the fast way home.

P.S. Saw a Hyabusa run consecutive 7.9 second quarters today, with no wheelie bars. But he did have an air shifter.

He must have gone even quicker after I left.

Oz, I know Leonard, that's who I bought the Kat off. He's a nice bloke...didn't complain about me pestering him about the Kat while he was doing setup for his next pass.

I had a play a couple of years ago at making an electric shifter, I came unstuck with the timing of the ignition cut. At the time I could only come up with a small programmable computer that cost a couple of hundred dollars. Extremely adjustable and would have worked perfect but very delicate so it all stopped. I was using a starter motor solenoid with a pull action. can't remember what it was off but your local auto eleccy would help. The solenoids are more than strong enough and with that ignition cut from ebay would work a treat.
Hey Ozkat you have an email from me.
Cheers
