I think it was Fimp asking about the MCS mini instruments I have used on the Bandito anyway I promised a piccy about 3 weeks ago and even though I took it the next day I have been slack about putting it up. So here it is...

Also just a sneak peek of the Cam Oil Feeders and Crank Breather, loosley fitted. Gonna have a big engine block clean up before they go on for good coz we are still tinkering around with the wiring loom a bit right now, although I have managed to get all lights working except the oil light on the guage... still working on that. Once the loom is sorted its clean up and assembly time. Getting very close now [8D]

Just waiting on a few bits from Stu at austreetfighters.com.au and a tail light assembly from Fatbloke and I think we have everything we need to finish up. Then its off to see if Vicroads will be dumb enough to let me register it [}:)]
Exciting times!!
finally gettin there mate, those cam links look very short, are they Earls? bunnings sell the same thing for $6.50,its kinda hard to justify but Enzed make em too. That speedo looks the goods but doesnt justify the top speed of a big block Suzi. I see its done 400 mteres already, yep she's run in;)

Most of that 400m has been pushing mate not riding LOL, on and off the stand and around the workshop.
The links come from the UK and when I priced out the fittings with Enzed it turned out that the guy I got them off was actually pretty well priced. The cam links are to fit any GSX motor from about a 15 year period, I like em nice and straight rather than the bends you see in some. Looking forward to getting the block cleaned up, as you can see its dusty and crappy right now and the alloy covers are all scratched and dull. Just cosmetic stuff that I will get around to in the coming weeks... still after much farting about we can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, finally...

Its about 50 or 60mm across I guess... as you can see from the size of the key next to it, its pretty small. Cost me $180 and wiring diagram etc that comes with it is pretty easy to work out. I have seen them for between $180 and $240, just depends on how greedy your local bike dealer is I guess :D

Large that is very much in dispute mate. Personally I cant imagine how they do anything but look bloody tricky, which after all is not a bad thing. I mean how does taking the oil out one side of the head and feeding it back in again make a difference ?? You tell me coz I cant see it. Those that reckon it does make a difference maintain it improves the flow of oil around the cams.... Anyway I bought them for show not go.
As for the Crank breather, well there is a bit better science behind that and even I can see how it could possibly make a difference. Its supposed to lower the pressure in the crankcase to redue the amount of work the pistons do coming down. Sounds reasonable to me... whether it actually improves performance is anyones guess... Again I just like lots of braided hose and shiny fittings :D

would they equalize the pressure??
would these mods work on the ol' 1100 kat motor??

My understanding is that the main parts of the block... like how far apart those cam end bolts are hasnt changed in donkys... so probably... If you want to check have a yack to this guy...

They are cable mate... and even though Im happy with the speedo unit I didnt get the tacho for 2 reasons... 1 its not required for rego and 2 I have heard bad reposrts about the needle waving around under vibration.

I have the same issue with the 9 Razor, which is why I am replacing the inlet cam and followers (not the cam chain as recently stated). The exhaust cam was getting lot's of oil (the feed is at the front of the motor) but not enough was transferring to the rear inlet cams, via the standard internal oilways. Flow isn't dramatically improved so much as guaranteed to flow reliably.
You would also use the external feed lines if you have a worked motor with a higher flow oil pump, as the standard lines are pretty thin. A standard upgrade when big boring GSX motors is to fit the higher flow rate 750 pump and external lines to handle the increased flow.
External lines would also give better cooling than the standard internal oil lines. Whether it makes that much difference is debatable though.

Actually chalk the cool is a good point I hadnt previously considered. I can certainly see how have those lines hanging out in the wind with the oil going through them could aid cooling.

By the way I have the tacho and speedo - the needle jiggles only a tad - most donot know that there is a fine adjustment inside them to make the tacho read well. I luv the blue look at knight - the photo does no justice without the blue led lit up!

Thatnks for telling me Speedy I didnt even know it had a blue LED lol... looking forward to seeing it at night.. I got your mail about the pods but I havnt bought them yet.
The plan is to take her down to the local Dyno and do a run with the airbox on, then pull it off and do another then make a plan about what pods and jetting to go for based on the results. The guy Ive got helping me is great so Im sure he will advise me appropriately, since I freely admit most stuff at that level is more or less beyond me.
Hey I just ride the damn things :D
