Seeing as Coupes go for $10K and upwards...and an ORIGINAL 351V8 GT is going for $50K plus, This is the nearest I would ever get to a Mad Maxmobile...

nah its exactly the same body as the carlton/senator/omega

i had a SRi cavvy with a 16v red top engine in it 175HP and 152mph that little 2.0 liter would see off any of them big arsed V8s on the roundy roundy bits.
then you got the GSi turbo cossie killer 16v turbo intercooler with 4WD 225HP v v fast little fuker:D
they dont get the new mondeos here ..like the ST220
last car i had back home just before we left was a 1993 cossie Granada
2.9 quad cam V6..cost me 350 quid[$1000]:Did love to bring one of them over here

The engine was originally developed by Ford for use as a touring car engine and was utilised by many people in the motor sport industry.

Ford then went on to use the engine in the Granada Scorpio due its high reliability and raw power. Ford had a figure of 300bhp in mind to power the Granada Scorpio using an automatic gearbox.

This worked very well and provided immense power, but with a slight problem: lack of traction, due to the car being rear-wheel drive.

Rather than ruin the car with traction control, Ford decided to decrease the power output to around 220bhp with 210lb-ft torque. Even de-tuned, this amazing power-house still delivered and amazed

theres one on ebay in Scotland for 200quid right now ..but nobody wants them cos its 400quid to tax it and petrols 1 pound a litre [they do 18 mpg in town]

I should export a handful of 351s and pop them in some straight-six falcons and make an arse-load of 'fighting money!

351s are a dime-a-dozen in the states.

I reckon u would find most of the 351's over there will be windsors... We started slappin clevelands in most stuff wearing the oval from about 1971..ish. There was a few exceptions to this of course.

dazz... depends how many bends u got in the road really.. ive seen an RS turbo escort destroy a 6.6 litre trans am in a street race.... dont see too many big 8 cylinder rally cars
Australia still has cheap fuel.... but not for long.

i believe the cosworth sierra had some success here racing even with its turbo it still does 28mpg
Dont get me wrong i love big yank muscle cars always have ..but they dont steer, dont stop and have a thirst that would bankrupt you.The Europeans and japs have always been good at building little hot hatchbacks and giant killers that handle.
Scooby WRX , VW GTis& VR6 , Ford XR2s&XR3s, M3 BMWs, Audi quattro,Lancia Integrale all 4 or 6 pot lumps
