hey guys i am just about to start stage two of predators build
first up i am was fitting this vortex sprocket its 48 tooth i was using a 45 and i am just thought i would like a bit of a change and then i came across a missing joining link clip now not that long ago i remeber doc was asking whether these things were safe to use and i have now come tothe conclusion that they are fucking shit and i am gunna change to a peen over link this is the second time i have seen this happen to a chain link once on a mates R6 and now on my own bike and YES it was installed the right way i ALWAYS double check that shit

now on a positive note i currently bidding on a front end for my ride so i hope to have that all sorted soon

now for the very cool news ..some of you allready know that deano and myself are conspiring to turbo predator in the coming months with things in motion as we speak ..deano is currently working on his own bike but once he is happy and ready to continue we will be going full steam ahead at this stage i have my throttle bodie's and deano is working on my headers and plenum in between his own bike that is (i am not pushing you either mate) so i am on the lookout for a GT25/28 deano knows the specs i am after so if anyone knows of any good turbo's kicking around if you could pm me please that would be great

i picked up that front end for $610 which i thought was ok and as for a turbo it needs to be either one of the following i think

Garrett GT25 or GT28 and as far as what it needs to be AR wise i was waiting for one of our gurus to help out there i am not after to much hp just enough to have some fun so somewhere around the 200/250HP mark would be great so any help would be great

A while back mate I was building a new sports hall in a school, the schools receptionist was a very helpful lady and nothing was to much trouble. All the guys on my site liked her, and not just because she was a babe. Well after working there for about six months we found out it was her birthday, and one of the guys said it might be a nice gesture to get her some flowers to show we were all grateful for all the help she had given us while on site. Everyone chipped in, but I made the mistake of phoning up and ordering the flowers with my card. 'Her indoors' saw the transaction on the bank statement, knew she hadn’t had flowers from me, put 2 and 2 together and I was back in the shit. It took a while to convince her I was a good boy, and a lot of sucking up mate. So I couldn’t agree more mate "What ever you do don’t buy flowers" Fuckin Wimming!!!!!!

TheBogyman
17-01-2009, 06:58 PM
why the ecu and injection, has nobody tried something like rs40's with a turbo, would be a lot cheeper,,maybe not,,,just wondering,,

BANDITROD
17-01-2009, 07:21 PM
i just dont like the idea of draw through set up ot the use of carbs full stop realy so i would rather it be injected for reliability purpose's and for ease of tuning but thats just my opinion

BANDITROD
21-01-2009, 05:19 PM

Hey Rod, you may already know this but I was speaking with S & R Pro yesterday about turbo's on the GSXR1100 and he said if you can get a hold of a K1 GSXR TB, Computer and wiring they can modify something on the computer to control boost/turbo. Might save you some cash on the computer. It may not be what your after, but interesting to know.

ummm interesting info there mate cheers pappas....now deano or booster what are your thoughts cos that sounds tempting do either of you know if that will work ok with the set up i will be using

Deano
26-01-2009, 10:06 PM
don't know anything about this but a problem i can see is you need to replicate all the sensors and timing of the sensors and ignition triggers to get it to work. and keep in mind you will have to take it to sydney to get any tuning done.

you will also loose all of the extra features that standalone ecu's have. you may not use them but they are there to be used if you want to.
boost control
antilag
traction control
configerable thermo fan control. (oil cooled motors run hotter than a gix 1000)
use standard easy to get and cheap sensors.
staged injection if the need arises to run 4 more injectors in the plenum.
a wise man once told me (from this site) "if you want your bike to run like a $400 bike then put a $400 computor on it. buy the best computor you can afford"

at the end of the day you will still be paying say $500 at least for the setup using gix 1000 gear. you will be stuck with 1 tuner in australia. no dedicated after sales surport team that will be happy to take you call for the 20th time in a day. and you will probably have more stuffing around getting it to work. a autronic sm4 ecu is about 2.5k but even if for some reason you pull the ecu out of the bike it is still worth $1500+ as they can be fitted to anything bike or car.

i would only consider this option if i already had a gix 1000 and everything was on the bike ready to go and all that was needed was a custom map. could get out of it for less than $1000

my advice rod would be forget it.
