Dock thanks mate buti got one of those already, was chasing the one for the 750 for sizes and torerences for the motor, so that i can check out the one i just got i've a good background in fitting and with engines that i could work out what i need to know form the 1100 manual but would be great if i had tha 750 manual just to check and see if there are any diffrences ( besides the obvious ) that i need to know about.

i'll have a look shortly, i've just had to move house and am a bit short on funds at the moment to buy the tail unit, still want to use the same one though and in a couple of weeks time i'll start looking about, i would like to get the compelate tail as this would make it a lot easer to do, ie fit the tail unit in such a way that every thing else is then original equipment. :)

i wondered how long it would take befor someone asked what the hell i was up to

well.....................................

it go a little like this....

i got an 88 750 with a dead cdi, but i also got a good 86 cdi unit, wanted to see if i could run the 88 on the 86 cdi

but as it turns out the easist way to do it is to put in the compleat crank pickup and rotor run the cabels to the cdi move two of the wires in the conectors of the cdi to the four pin plug ( two are back to front ) and hey presto should be running, havent finisthed it yet, got to put the coils back in and put the rest of the bike back together yet ( had the coils checked as a first thing to see why it wuld not run properly or rev past 8 grand ) the only down side is that there is now now feed for the tacho, but that should not be to much of a prob as i'll take a feed of one of the coils ( have to check to see that this dosen't interfear with the operation of the ignition system )

I'll let you know how it all went tomorrow night as i should have the bike back together tomorrow afternoon, then i have to see if the owner will let me paint it a diffrent colour as it is the most horrid colour yellow i have ever seen.
Brad ( owner of the bike ) is a crafty basted said i could borrow the bike for as long as i needed it to get my other mike back together but didn't tell me that the bike had issues and knew that i would fix them qicker and cheper than a bike shop would.

so that is what i am up to.

cut down the time it took to work it out down a great deal, proberly could have done it with out them but would have taken me many days not hours

thanks guys.
